Hand embroidered flowers workshop, Chadlington, 28 February 2017
Painting with your needle – hand embroidered flowers.
A new workshop focusing on the using different shades of thread to create painterly petals. I plan to work on one of my designs, an arrangement in a jug of pansies, roses, daisy type flowers and leaves. We will start by sketching (don’t panic, it is easy and I can do it for you if you don’t like drawing, or you can trace my design) onto the linen, and then do some stitching on each type of flower in our jug or vase. We might not finish the entire arangement, but you will go home feeling confident about finishing the piece at home. I will bring a small selection of fabrics for anyone who wants to use applique to make the jug, or do a mixture of stitched and applique flowers. As with all my workshops, nothing is cast in stone! If you have been on my workshops before, these flowers are bigger, so there is space to enjoy the silk shading.
The workshop fee of £135 includes all materials, morning coffee on arrival, a light two-course lunch and afternoon tea at the end of the day. When we receive your booking you will be sent details of how to get to the venue, as well as a short list of useful equipment to bring (scissors, needles, etc if you have them) and a form requesting details of any dietary requirements. We limit the numbers on this workshop to 6 so that everyone can sit close enough to see stitches being demonstrated and so that I can give each person plenty of attention.
Please note I will refund the shipping fee of £6.95 when I receive your booking.
