Easter Parade: a collaboration between Janine Pope and Caroline Zoob (UK)

Easter Parade is my second collaboration with textile artist Janine Pope and features three of Janine’s signature stitched figures.  Illustrated here are my hand-embroidered girls (with one skirt in hand-stitched appliqué) and a version by Ingrid using the free machine embroidery stitching. Whichever way you choose to ‘dress’ the girls, and it might be a combination of both, it is such fun to work this design.

Very cleverly, the design is drawn such that the Easter motifs can be covered by stitching or appliqué without affecting the outline of the girls and their clothes, so you could ‘dress’ them in any number of ways without any reference to Easter. A lovely way to celebrate friends, bridesmaids, sisters, granddaughters.  I was very taken with the Jule Post bag we did at Christmas and wondered whether this could be made into a bag to fill with wrapped eggs.

The basic kit consists of a 6-panel A5 instruction card with an actual size diagram for tracing, and instructions for both methods of dressing the figures, as well as TWO pieces of antique linen printed with the design measuring a generous  30 x 30cm. One piece is printed with the girls, and one piece is plain, giving everyone the chance to try both ways of creating the image outlined in the kit.

You can then choose between the following options:

Option 1

Basic kit plus a thread card generously filled with the embroidery threads needed to complete the hand-embroidered version shown. Please note that thread is supplied with which to stitch the skirt on the left and not the silk shown.

Option 2

Basic kit. This is best for those who want to use their own materials and/or threads.

Delivery and Postage

In both cases, the price includes postage to all areas of the United Kingdom. Customers outside the UK please see the Embroidery Kits for Overseas Customers section.

** we will do our best to post this in time for Easter but the earliest we can post is Thursday morning 1st April, so it is just a matter of how well the first class post functions to your area as to whether you will receive it on Saturday.**
