The Skaters: A Stitcher’s Journal Collection embroidery kit (UK)

We have just a few packs of this romantic embroidery kit, which accompanied Issue No 4 of The Stitcher’s Journal in December 2020.

I love those nineteenth century paintings of skaters, in velvet bustles and huge fur collars and muffs, skating en masse in their Sunday best. The church was inspired by a fifteenth century Lutheran church high on the rocks above a river in Estonia. The armies of Europe have passed it many times on their way to various invasions and repossessions. The steps up from the river, the little boat, the romantic skaters – they exist only in my head.

A printed fold-out card contains comprehensive instructions, all the threads you need and the design printed on a generous piece of antique French linen. It makes a charming seasonal picture to bring out at Christmas.

The design is just slightly larger than A5. You can download a free pdf of my Favourite Stitches to help you. I like to think that beginners can tackle all of my kits, even the more complicated ones, because I use a small repertoire of simple stitches and give clear and full instructions. I also always happy to help  over the phone if you get stuck.

The price includes first class postage to all areas of the United Kingdom.
