A pair of watercolours by artist EL Colebrooke, painted in the early 20th century. Beautiful colours, and these two need to be together – look at the soft pinks. There is another picture by the same artist of some cottages near Whitby.

Such lovely pictures, thanks Caroline, the 2nd one with the cottages and bridge is actually Staithes looking towards the harbour, I know this view very well as I live at Staithes, 16 miles north of Whitby. Must admit while I have seen many paintings of Staithes, and there are lots of them, I had never thought about embroidering that view.
