Workshop – Advent calendar garland (mixed media), 28th November, Bramley
Just in time for Advent, create an advent calendar consisting of 24 miniature (7cm) rag paper bags, each decorated with antique papers, scraps of fabric, sketches, stamped images, or whatever you prefer from the large selection available on the day. So you might stitch a holly leaf and number on a scrap of linen and stitch it to one bag, or make a sprig of mistletoe in antique papers for another. You might make all your symbols in gorgeous antique document papers for a more sophisticated garland.
Each little bag is big enough for a little present or clue for a treasure hunt. The garland/calendar can be used year after year, and can be used year after year. You will also receive a box in which to store your garland. The bags will be attached to paper covered wire, to which you may attach ribbons or decorations of your choice when at home. The illustrations show a garland I made using cut outs of a print of an advent calendar I made some years ago.
The course fee of £135 includes all materials, a light two-course lunch and refreshments during the day.
09.45 for morning coffee, and ending at 4.15 with a cup of tea and slice of cake.
