Paint into stitch: birds and nest – 24th February 2018, Chadlington, Oxfordshire
Due to demand, I am combining two approaches to the same embroidery on this day. This project lends itself beautifully to what I am calling ‘paint into stitch’. Instead of piecing a background, you can paint the whole design on linen, and then add stitches either to cover the whole design, or leave some areas painted with only minimal stitching. I am happy for people to choose which approach they fancy on the day. We will then hand stitch one of my original designs, either featuring part of a tree with two birds and a nest, or a single bird, whichever you prefer. This workshop is suitable for all levels: beginners might just not get quite as far as more experienced stitchers, but the workshop will cover everything you need to complete the piece at home. We will use my favourite beautiful hand-dyed threads to blend several different colours for the birds’ feathers.
The workshop fee of £135 includes all materials, morning coffee on arrival, a light two-course lunch and afternoon tea at the end of the day. When we receive your booking you will be sent details of how to get to the venue, as well as a short list of useful equipment to bring (scissors, needles, etc if you have them) and a form requesting details of any dietary requirements.
10.00 for 10.30 – 4.30pm. Chadlington, 3 miles from Chipping Norton.
Please note, the shipping fee of £6.95 will be refunded as soon as I spot your booking: my website cannot allocate different shipping levels to different products. Please also note the terms and conditions regarding workshop bookings.
