WORKSHOP: JANINE POPE – STITCHING PEOPLE, 7th March 2020, Chadlington
I am so delighted that Janine Pope has agreed to return to Chadlington in March for a repeat of her Stitching People workshop. Janine is a hugely talented textile artist and bookbinder, and an inspiring, organised teacher. Her quirky, beautifully dressed figures exude character, and in this workshop you will learn a very simple method with which to create your own figures. Designing and choosing their clothes is part of the fun, and you may want to bring fabric with sentimental value to use. You will be able to finish your picture by the end of the day.
Please note that a sewing machine is required for this workshop, one with a free embroidery machine foot and feed dogs down feature. it is also heloful if you know how to use your machine, even if you have not done free-motion embroidery before.
The workshop fee includes all tuition, materials and a two-course lunch, as well as plenty of refreshments throughout the day. The venue at Chadlington is a private home with a light-filled garden room with plenty of space in which to work.
The workshop starts with morning coffee at 10.15 for 10.30 and ends at 4.30 pm after tea and cake.
Joining instructions, with a short list of things to bring and a map/address, will be sent out about a week before the workshop.
