Workshop: Making pictures with fabric and thread, Ticehurst, 11th September 2018
Taking inspiration from the ‘table top’ paintings of Mary Fedden and Winifred Nicholson, and using my collection of vintage fabrics as a paint box, with thread for stitched detail, we will make a piece of textile art. We might also use some paint. This is one of my favourite workshops, as everyone takes a slightly different approach and the studio starts to buzz with ideas. We will be surrounded by inspiration on my pin boards.
A bit of stitching experience would be useful, but beginners are always welcome on my workshops.
The fee of £95 includes all materials, coffee/tea and cake, and a light two course lunch. My studio and teaching room at Ticehurst are easy to find, and there is plenty of parking. Sometimes, Sonia at The Old Haberdashery opens early so that you can enjoy a browse in her inspiring shop before the workshop starts.
