Terms and conditions

DELIVERY  Standard delivery £6.95 for mainland UK and Channel Islands within 2-4 working days.

We are a small business and all the packing and posting is done in-house. If you need something delivered in time for a particular date please put this information in the  Order Notes box on the Checkout page.

We will always try to assist with next day delivery if we can but please telephone us on 01435 883136 before 12 noon on the day you place your order to check that one of us is available to organise a next day delivery despatch.

We hope you will be delighted with your purchases. If however you wish to return something please telephone or email us on receipt to let us know and return the item(s) to us in their original packaging within seven working days.  We do not pay for returns postage unless the goods were faulty or broken. Please note this policy does not apply to embroidery kits, places bought on our workshops for which we do not offer returns.  See below for terms and conditions regarding workshops and subscriptions to The Stitcher’s Journal.

We take great care when photographing our products to ensure the colours and textures are clearly represented. With vintage products we will describe or show any minor flaws or faults.

Friends and family are welcome to attend a workshop in your place, provided we have been notified at least two working days before the event begins. You will need to provide us with the name, dietary requirements and contact number of anyone attending in your place.

Otherwise, we regret we are unable to offer refunds on workshops, but can offer transfers to an alternative course date, provided we have been given enough notice (subject to availability):

  • 2-16 weeks’ notice before the workshop starts – We will transfer you to another workshop of the same value. This may not necessarily be the same workshop, and may be held at a different time of year.
  • Less than 2 weeks’ notice before the workshop starts – We regret we cannot offer a transfer.

Should it be necessary for us to rearrange a workshop we will issue a gift voucher and ensure that we rearrange it on a mutually convenient date.

Workshop places bought as gifts carry the same cancellation policy.

The annual subscription (all three options) is non-refundable. This is because the overall price is based on committing to suppliers for the whole year, allowing us to keep the price as low as possible.  You may have a credit note or transfer the subscription to someone else and send us new address details.

I like to share such skills and techniques as I can offer generously, without feeling inhibited by the thought that students will subsequently produce work for sale that is uncomfortably similar to mine. Sometimes the idea is the skill, not the creation of it, and when that is used without permission, it is very upsetting, especially if the person has not been open about the fact they are a professional maker when booking the place.

Before booking a workshop, please note that any templates and designs are my copyright and may not be reproduced on a commercial basis without my permission. This includes sales arising from ad hoc postings on instagram. Equally, if completed work using my designs, even for personal use, is reproduced on instagram or social media channels, I would expect a credit for the workshop.
