It’s here! Some of you will know Janine Pope for the witty and entertaining illustrations of the adventures of Gemma and her dog Tiffin, posted at @pope.janine on Instagram. Posts always elicit demands for a book, so here it is: Janine’s first book, full of beautiful illustrations showing how Gemma and Tiffin enjoy the days leading up to Christmas creating festive touches without getting stressed. Sometimes, they just have a day off and make and eat a lot of the Festive Rock Cakes, made to a very special and ancient recipe which they debated about sharing. Many of the projects would be lovely for mindful, creative moments throughout the year and would make charming little presents which you can pop in an envelope and post. Janine’s Danish heritage on her mother’s side is very precious to her and several of the projects in this book are derived from childhood ‘paper and stick’ days at the kitchen table with her mother, who always countered any high fallutin’ ideas with a reminder about the charm of simplicity.

Larger than A5, the book is designed and printed in England on high quality art paper with a thick card cover. Each copy will be signed. This issue really is limited, and I am hosting it because I believe it will become a collectable classic.
