An original design by Caroline Zoob of a gingerbread bird house inhabited by a pair of white doves.

A very simple stitch, and a lovely Christmas present to give to a friend who likes or wants to learn to stitch. You can either frame the completed embroidery in a vintage wooden frame and prop it on the mantelpiece at Christmas, or you could make a little slip cover for a notebook in which you keep Christmas lists and notes or recipes. I love the way @diana_bli55 has used the design to make a little keepsake bag.

The kit consists of a generous piece of vintage French linen printed with the design, with enough spare to use if you wanted to cover a small notebook, a pretty thread card filled with threads, and a folded card printed with all the instructions, a diagram and illustrations. The design is roughly 5″ (14cm) square.
