These were prepared, using antique drawings and botanical illustrations in my collection, for my ‘herbier’ embroidery workshops in France in 2019 (happy memories). During the Great Workroom Sort-out of 2024 I found the screens lurking at the back of a cupboard and thought I would remind myself of what they looked like.  They have really inspired me anew and I thought I would make them available to all  on some particularly nice antique French linen. If you press them to make them colour fast you could make a cushion with them as they are, or you could add silk paint (again, using the paint manufacturer’s instructions for making it colour fast), and add some hand or machine stitched poetry or fabric scraps, almost using the printed linen as a base for a piece of textile art.  You could also cut them up to make smaller pieces of work, perhaps embroidering over the text. Each piece of linen is hand-printed to order, using a soft sepia ink.

Each piece measures roughly 55cm x 35 cm (22″ x 14″), plenty for an oblong or small square scatter cushion.

With each order you will be sent a paper copy of the antique watercolour(s) for colour reference. The preice reflec ts the quality of the linen and my hand-printing. You can buy them singly for £20 or as a ‘botanical bundle’ of any three for £45. If you select ‘botanical bundle’ it will be assumed that you would like one of each unless you say otherwise in the comments box at the checkout.
