I am delighted to collaborate with Melanie McDonough to produce this embroidery kit. Melanie adores Christmas and styles her exquisite embroideries so beautifully on her Instagram page @mcdonoughmelanie. For her, embroidery is a soothing pleasure to be enjoyed at the end of days in a demanding working environment and so it is a privilege for me to be able to facilitate the sharing of this original design by way of this kit.

Normally, I receive only the drawing and stitch the kit myself, but I feel that Melanie’s stitching is so beautiful I could add nothing to it. I have written the instructions and produced the kit though, so if you have any queries, either before or after buying the kit, please contact me via email.

The kit includes several whole skeins of thread and a thread card loaded with colours for which you do not receive whole skeins. The finished house is slightly larger than A5 and so will fit into an A4 picture frame. I also think it would make a lovely central feature in a patchwork Christmas banner, and I may just treat myself to one for the holiday period!

This is not a difficult stitch. As with many of my kits, there is scope for your own creativity in the garlands and the little Christmas trees in pots. The lace trim used on the house in the photograph can be replaced either with a trim of your own, or there are suggestions for alternatives in the instructions.

The price includes postage and packing to all areas listed and New Zealand. If your order is over £100, it will be tracked automatically, otherwise tracking is not included. We very rarely lose orders but while tracking does not necessarily speed up delivery, it does at least enable us to track it, particularly if you know your address is a bit hard to find or off-the-beaten track.
